Grace’s Journey into Employment with LTW Domestic
Grace joined our employability programme with a clear goal: to secure meaningful employment and build confidence in her job search. Motivated and determined, she consistently engaged with support at the Beith Youth Hub and worked closely with her keyworker, Craig Jarvie, to move closer to her career goals.
The Challenge
Like many young people entering the job market, Grace needed support to navigate applications, strengthen her CV, and feel confident approaching interviews. She was eager to work but unsure how best to present herself to employers and identify suitable opportunities.
The Support Provided
Grace received tailored one-to-one support designed to prepare her for success, including:
- CV updates and personalised cover letters
- Application support and guidance on using job search websites such as Indeed
- Workshops focused on employability skills and customer service qualifications
- Mock interview preparation and interview skills coaching
- Referrals to employer information sessions
- Support applying for jobs
Craig supported Grace in exploring current vacancies. They discussed the pros and cons of different opportunities and helped build Grace’s confidence in navigating the recruitment process.
The Turning Point
As Grace became job-ready, she was introduced to Martine Brown, our Business Services Team Lead, for additional support in securing employment opportunities. She applied for a Laundry Assistant role with LTW Domestics and was invited to attend a work trial. This gave her the chance to demonstrate her skills, reliability, and enthusiasm.
The Outcome
Grace’s hard work and commitment paid off. Following a successful work trial, she was offered the position with LTW Domestics.
The role was created through the Personal Recruitment Incentive (PRI), a funded opportunity supported by North Ayrshire Council and facilitated by CEIS Ayrshire to help employers create meaningful jobs for people seeking work.
Our Mission in Action
Having the right support in place can make a significant difference when overcoming barriers to employment. Through our tailored employability programme, alongside the PRI incentive, individuals are given practical pathways into work. With this support, Grace was able to channel her determination into positive outcomes, developing the confidence, skills, and experience required to succeed in the workplace.
