Fair Work First Statement
CEIS Ayrshire is committed to advancing the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First agenda and creating a fair, inclusive and supportive working environment in which all employees are valued, respected and supported to achieve their potential.
As a values-led organisation, we recognise that fair work is fundamental to the wellbeing and development of our employees, the quality of our services and the communities we support.
We demonstrate this commitment through the following practices:
- Fair Pay: As a Living Wage Employer, we ensure that all employees receive at least the real Living Wage.
- Effective Employee Voice: We encourage open communication, consultation and meaningful staff participation through our Employee Voice Forum, providing opportunities for employees to share views, raise concerns and contribute to decisions affecting their working environment.
- Workforce Development: We invest in the skills, knowledge and professional development of our employees through regular appraisals, development discussions and access to relevant learning and training opportunities.
- Secure Employment: We do not use zero-hours contracts and support the principles of Living Hours, recognising the importance of predictable working arrangements, financial security and a healthy work-life balance.
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity, dignity and respect, addressing workplace inequalities and creating an inclusive environment where individuals can thrive, supported by our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
- Flexible and Family-Friendly Working: We support flexible working from the first day of employment and recognise the importance of balancing work with family, caring and personal responsibilities, supported by our Flexible Working Policy and Family and Carers Handbook.
- Fair Employment Practices: We oppose the use of fire-and-rehire practices and are committed to treating employees fairly, transparently and respectfully in matters affecting their employment.
Through these commitments, CEIS Ayrshire aims to provide secure, rewarding and sustainable employment, promote employee wellbeing and ensure that everyone has a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s continued development and success.
We recognise that Fair Work is an ongoing commitment and will continue to review and improve our employment practices, working constructively with employees and their representatives to ensure that Fair Work First principles remain embedded in our organisational culture and everyday operations.
