The Construction Skills Certification scheme (CSCS) card helps you secure your future in construction. Holding a card proves to others that you have the appropriate skills and knowledge to work in the industry. Although a CSCS cards are not a legal requirement to work on a construction site, many employers require employees to hold one. Obtaining a card can provide you with better job prospects and enhance your safety on site.

Applying for a CSCS Card
Before you can get your CSCS card you need to prove your knowledge and proficiency of health and safety in construction environment. To do this you need to pass the CITB health and safety in a Construction Environment test.
You can find information about how to apply for the CSCS card and what you need by visiting the CSCS website. They can provide guidance on the correct type of card you need and what qualification is needed. Please note that CSCS do not offer course qualifications or exams. You will need to make arrangements through a training provider or third party organisation.
CEIS Ayrshire is an accredited training provider able to deliver the SCQF Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. We offer flexible options to help you get the right qualification needed for you CSCS labourer card. We also offer a convenient card ordering process where we will complete the application and order the CSCS card for you.
This option is ideal for those who do not hold the relevant qualifications for the CSCS Labourers card. Candidates will undertake a full day training course that covers aspects of health and safety in construction, the SQA test to obtain the relevant qualification needed (SCQF Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment), the final CITB test, and our card ordering service.
If you already have passed the CITB test but still need the relevant qualification this option covers the cost of the SQA test and the card ordering service.
