CEIS Ayrshire

Sector Based Work Academy in Care

Claudia’s Work Coach at Irvine Job Centre referred her to CEIS Ayrshire in January. Although she had a varied work history, she was unsure about which type of employment to focus on. Following discussions, it was clear that Claudia displayed qualities that would be ideal in the Care sector. We discussed the Sector Based Work Academy in Care, and she was keen to find out more about this.

We set up a meeting with Jacqueline Stevens-Gray to discuss this in detail. Jacqueline explained the processes and the types of Care environments that Claudia could consider.

Completing Care Qualifications and Getting a Job with Key.

Claudia went on to complete all 9 accredited courses and 2 non-accredited workshops in a 10-day period, including Understanding your Role in Care, Person Centred Care and Safeguarding Adults.

Through discussions with Jacqueline, it was identified that Claudia`s nature and bubbly personality would be suited to the work that Key Services deliver. We supported Claudia with the application and prepped her for the up-and-coming interview with Key Services.

Claudia impressed Key Services at the interview, and they didn’t hesitate to offer her employment. She is now awaiting her start date following the background checks.
