CEIS Ayrshire

Our Zoom Workshops Provided Andrina with the Confidence to get back into Work

Andrina was referred to CEIS Ayrshire on the 17th June for employability support. Apart from a short housekeeping job in 2011, she had been a full-time housewife and mother for over 20 years. Following a change of family circumstances, she was now looking to gain employment but was unsure of where to start.

As it had been so long since Andrina worked, she was extremely nervous about gaining employment but displayed determination to succeed.

Following initial discussions, it was agreed that attending our Zoom workshops was a good place to start. She completed the Confidence workshop and set herself a few goals. She then went on to complete both the Applications and Interviews Skills workshops and felt that these were useful and that she could use the hints and tips for any potential interviews.

Updating CV

We worked together on her CV, identifying her transferable skills and qualities as Andrina wanted to find a part-time cleaning job that would suit her family commitments. We also arranged for her to undertake 3 relevant on-line accredited courses that would enhance her CV and job opportunities.

Our Business Services team was approached from an employer who was looking for a candidate for a 10-hour cleaning position. This was discussed with Andrina and she was more than happy for her CV to be put forward for this.

Andrina attended an interview with the company and was asked to do a trial shift. She has now secured a job with them on a 10-hour basis with scope for additional hours.
