John referred himself to CEIS Ayrshire. He had heard from a family friend of the support we could provide to help him move into employment. John had been studying computer science at University and left in February 2023. He wanted to gain experience in the field, however, he didn’t know where to begin because he had never had a CV, interview, or job before.

After scheduling the first meeting, we assisted John in making a new CV. We directed him to online workshops to identify his skills and boost his confidence. We also helped him gain qualifications in Cyber Security, teamwork, and social media marketing. After finishing these requirements, we held one-on-one sessions to practice interview techniques for upcoming interviews.

John had the chance to do work experience with Wi-Fi Spark in Irvine. He was worried because he had never done this kind of work before. However, he decided to do a few weeks to gain some much-needed work experience.

John applied for a trainee Data Processor role after his work experience. He was successful and got a full-time, permanent position. John used Wi-Fi Spark as a reference from his previous work experience placement to help him secure the job. John is thrilled and excited to start his new job.
