Interview Support Provided for our Client

Identifying the Needs of the Client

We provide various employability services to improve your skills and qualities, mock interview support and more. Our client needed support to gain employment and our Keyworker Erica was able to provide that support for them. Erica details their client’s journey in this blog post.

A client registered with me in July 2022 after the job centre referred them to CEIS Ayrshire. During the registration we created an action plan which suited the client’s needs. This gave us a clear path on what areas we needed to work on.

One of the main areas we needed to work on was the client’s confidence. I needed to get them to be more open and engage in conversation. I booked them on our Zoom workshops for Confidence and Skills & Qualities. The client would learn what great qualities they already have and start looking at how to become more confident.

After my client had attended these workshops, I booked an appointment for us to start making a CV. With the help of the workshops, the client was able to add their key skills and attributes to their CV.

As the client had recently left college and had no work experience, I was keen to get them some accredited qualifications. These would help them when entering employment. I supported the client in applying for ITA funding so they could attend an Emergency First Aid at Work course. This course was run by our training team in the Irvine office in August 2022.

Interview Preparation

I helped the client complete job applications online using Indeed and My Job Scotland. The client received further support with job applications and interview preparations. This would help the client feel more confident and comfortable at job interviews.

After we had worked on interviews questions, I set up a mock interview with Rachael from our Business Services team. Rachael provided feedback for the client and gave us points to work on.

We revisited the interview preparation, and I organised another mock interview with Rachael. She noticed the hard work that the client had put in to try and build on their answers and give more information.

Securing a Position with Stevenston Post Office

In October a job advert had come through our Business Services team. The position was for a Customer Service Assistant with the Stevenston Post Office. This position was generated through ERI Funding. The client was keen to have their CV sent across for this job. They secured an interview and started the job in November 2022.

Alongside the client now working as a Customer Service Assistant they also have the opportunity to undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in Customer Service or Retail which was made available by our Skills and Training Team.
