How we Supported our Client back into Work
Julie-Anne Draper registered with CEIS Ayrshire in September 2021. She hadn’t worked for a few years as she had been looking after her children, now she is looking for a job that would work around her family., she has qualifications as hairdresser but was looking for change in career as she no longer wanted to do hairdressing.
Julie-Anne committed to attending some of our workshops and undertook some online training to gain more qualifications in other sectors. She also agreed to attend our Administration Sector Based Work Academy, in order to gain qualifications in Admin, which was completed along with several online training units, including First Aid, under her belt.
She was going to then attend our Childcare SBWA, however, we had filled out an application for the North Ayrshire Skills for Life position of Admin Assistant at Cunningham Housing Association. Julie-Anne interviewed well and was offered the placement position. Since starting there, she has settled in well and received some amazing feedback. Julie-Anne is really enjoying her placement and has already been moved onto different projects, and it’s great to see her doing so well.

“Julie-Anne is getting on fantastic; I cannot praise her highly enough for the work she is doing and her ability to just come in and get stuck in. She has taken on the training so well and is so keen to get involved in everything.
Julie-Anne has already received compliments from customers for her efforts in supporting them, and it has been recognised by everyone how well she is picking up the role.
A permanent part-time post will become available in July with the opportunity for the hours to be increased to full time to support covering a maternity leave. Julie-Anne has been encouraged to apply for this position as I can’t see her not being part of her team now! She has settled in so well.”
