A client was referred to us via Welfare Reform as he was suffering with severe metal heath issues and money problems.
During registration we discovered that as well as severe mental health issues he had a high level of dyslexia and very poor IT skills but had managed to hold down employment all his life. We referred him to Salus who supported him with his mental health issues, and we supported him on a 1-1 basis with his CV, interview skills and any application forms he needed to complete.
Due to his mental health, engaging with him is difficult but we’ve managed to arrange food parcels to be dropped off, completed job applications via phone and he has been receiving support for his mental health. Between ourselves and Salus we managed to get him a waiver to travel to Arran where he wanted to go to be closer to friends during lockdown.
He has since secured employment in Irvine where he is now working part time.
